"How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation." Daniel 4:3
What a joy this verse in Daniel is! Even as another year goes by, God's kingdom is everlasting and will continue on to the new generation. This past year - 2019 - was truly a year when we saw the Lord's great signs and mighty wonders. I am overjoyed to have had a small part in this great plan with DiscipleMakers. From planning conferences, to leading Bible studies, to organizing payroll, to leading a workshop, the Lord has graciously used me to share Christ in many ways this year. Check out the pictures below to see more specifically what happened in 2019.
January - Staff Training
Every year begins with a staff conference where we are equipped and ready for a new year serving the Lord. Praise God for quality teaching such as this!
March - Spring Break
The Penn State fellowship traveled to North Carolina to work at a Young Life summer camp. Besides serving Young Life (a ministry to middle/high school students), this trip also built a lot of community within the fellowship.
April - Women's Conference
This is my favorite event because it provides a retreat for the women to re-focus on the Lord, learn about specific topics they may be facing, and enjoy wonderful fellowship together!
May - Focus Conference
What sweet relief it is to finish up a busy school year and spend a week resting in the Lord! Focus went incredibly well as many students left eager to use their summer to serve the Lord!
June-August - Internship
Every summer, we have a group of interns serve both at Penn State and in our Headquarters office. These three students worked with us in the Headquarters to not only serve DiscipleMakers for a few months, but also to gain a greater vision for how we use our unique skills to further God's kingdom behind the scenes.
September - Fall Kickoff
The students are back! The first few weeks of the semester are quite exciting as we reach out to thousands of new students, expectantly watching God point us to those He might impact!
October - Fall Conference
This year was amazing as we hit a record of 400 students attending this event. But my favorite part this year was having an opportunity to co-teach a workshop and lead a practical discussion about how the Lord shapes and grows our hearts.
November - Holiday Festivities
We hosted a "Friendsgiving" event for the group of sophomores I work with. Many of them shared how thankful they are for finding this group and how they have grown in the Lord.
I thank you for partnering with my ministry with DiscipleMakers that we might see the Lord work in all these ways in 2019. I'm eager to see what God will continue to do in this new year. Whatever His plans, I know for certain that "His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation"!
If you'd like to hear even more about how God has been using DiscipleMakers, check out the invitation below for a luncheon in February!
Each of you have been a dear partner in DiscipleMakers efforts to reach college students with the gospel. Over the past 2.5 years, it has been a true joy to see how the Lord has been at work, so let's celebrate that together! Come join me for a light lunch and stories of God's faithfulness on the college campus.
Lunch will be served at 12:30pm and a short presentation will begin at 1pm. Come and go as you please.
An Evite will be sent to this same email address later this week, or RSVP now at the button below.
Praise God for a fruitful year of serving Him on the college campus! Praise Him for the growth we've seen in students, for those who have committed to Christ this year, and for the new campuses we've reached.
Pray for the opportunity represented by each picture - that God would continue to work in these students, that they would remain faithful in an uncertain generation, and new opportunities might arise for God to use DiscipleMakers on each of the campuses we're at.
Thank you, dear friends, for your partnership in the gospel!
Your support - whether prayer, financial, or other - is greatly appreciated and makes it possible for us to continue reaching the next generation for Christ!
